sitka-charter-fising-alaska

Captain Jaren Sumauang, was born and raised in Sitka, Alaska with a natural calling to the wild. He has spent his life exploring the waters and mountains of the Tongass National Forest developing a keen knowledge of the environment he calls home. Jaren has been a commercial fisherman since the age of 13; from seining in Southeast Alaska to gillnetting the largest sockeye salmon run in the world, Bristol Bay. When he wasn’t commercial fishing, Jaren assisted charter fishing expeditions and hosted wildlife tours. After completing his collegiate wrestling career and graduating, he obtained his United States Coast Guard 100 ton master license and launched his own business, Sitka Sea Level Adventures. Jaren is an avid outdoorsman, boasting an assistant Alaska Hunting Guides license. He has facilitated hunting expeditions around the state - tracking moose, deer, brown and black bear, caribou, and the elusive mountain goat.

Along with top notch customer service, Captain Jaren brings to his charters and tours his intimate knowledge of Sitka Sound, it’s wildlife, his fishing tricks, and of course, the local best kept secrets.
